Many adherents of vegetarianism and veganism consider a flesh-free diet as more healthful, and moreover, as a more ethical lifestyle. They exclude meat in their diet because of the cruel and harsh practices, as well as the high environmental expenditure of raising animals. Other vegetarians and vegans follow this diet solely for health reasons.
