Hair Loss Prevention

Hair loss can be particularly devastating for men as it can be for women. Though some people are just genetically prone to lose hair more than others, there are some hair loss prevention methods that can slow down or even prevent hair loss.

Different products such as shampoos and FDA approved vitamins/ supplements can prove to be helpful for some people. Hair growth is also dependent on nutrition and proper body functions.  Since hair is actually made of proteins that feed of your body’s nutrition, exercise, diet and a similar health plans can help prevent hair fall.

Due to the growing number of hair loss problems our community faces, science and research developments have also advanced in order to find practical and natural solutions to these problems.  Research show that many of men with male pattern baldness show similar patterns of increased DHT in the body. DHT is a known component of testosterone. As such, new drugs, an example of which is Rogaine, are now available to help lower DHT levels in the body and prevent major hair loss.

Hair loss prevention shampoos are also available in the market today.  It is convenient way to prevent hair loss because you can use it every day in replacement of your regular shampoo.  Hair loss shampoo products work by taking care of your scalp, fertilizing it with enriching nutrients that help strengthen the scalp and reduce hair thinning and overall hair fall. Since it’s basically like any other shampoo you use, there are little to no side effects reported even in long term use.  Natural scalp enriching plants such as aloe vera have also shown to be helpful as a hair loss treatment for men and women alike.

Stress is another associated factor that contributes to hair loss. Increased hair loss has been seen in constantly stress out individuals who work round the clock.  Minimizing or controlling  stress while improving rest is a good hair loss prevention method as well as a healthier lifestyle choice.

There are a lot of hair care practices to prevent hair loss. Avoiding unnecessary tension on the hair and scalp is one.  It may be best to avoid tight hairstyles such as buns and braids. Allowing hair to dry out naturally rather than using that blow dryer can also a good prevention practice. It may also be helpful to ask for styling tips and techniques from hair experts to reduce hair fall.
